On the 21st of March 2022, The EAI responded to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Consultation in the UK regarding CD291 – Revision of the Gas Safety (Management) Regulations 1996 and proposed changes to Imported Gas Quality within the UK Gas Network.
As Ireland is highly reliant on the UK gas network for gas imports, the response highlighted the impacts of a potential change in Gas Quality and the risks these changes could pose Irish Security of Supply. The EAI response addressed the consultation under the topics of Irish Security of supply, Communication with Irish Stakeholders surrounding timelines, costs and on-the-ground implications for the Irish network.
