On March 4th 2022 EAI submitted a letter to four stakeholders regarding the the upcoming (Health and Safety Executive)HSE consultation on changes to the (Gas Safety Management Regulations) GSMR and its potential impact in Ireland. These concerns were previously raised in a similar letter submitted by EAI to stakeholders on the 30th of April 2021.
EAI and its members recognise the importance of gas and gas-fired generation in Ireland and is highly concerned around the lack of communication, clarity and awareness relating to these proposed changes to the GSMR and the potential resulting consequences. The letter seeks clarity and communication from CRU on how they will respond to the issues raised, should they materialise.
