EAI welcomes the opportunity to respond to the CRU consultation on the uptake of time of use (TOU) tariffs. The full implementation and use of smart meters will require a significant amount of awareness raising and education of customers, suppliers offering a series of innovative products and regulatory barriers to smart data being identified and removed. Our response focuses on addressing these three challenges, outlining principles which we would like to see an enduring policy follow.
